The contract, in full
Last updated 11 October 2026. These terms apply to everyone who uses Yodoya’s website, buys a challenge, or trades a Yodoya account. By signing in you agree to them; if you don’t, don’t sign in.
Nothing here contradicts the rules the engine actually enforces — every number below is read from the same file the engine reads, so a term and a fill cannot disagree. Where a rule has changed, the date it changed is published in the rule changelog at the foot of this page.
Read this before you pay
- All accounts are simulated at all times, including funded accounts. No real capital is deployed on your behalf and you hold no interest in any trading account, position or asset.
- Payouts are performance rewards, owed when the conditions in these terms are met. They are not returns on an investment and not a share of trading profits, and you are responsible for your own taxes on them.
- We are not a broker, dealer, exchange or CFD provider. You get no market access, we are nobody’s counterparty, and there is no leverage, margin or borrowing on a challenge, a funded account or a Chart Draft match. A live duel allows simulated leverage on simulated capital only. Nothing is ever lent to you and you can never owe us money.
- The challenge fee is the cost of taking a challenge. It is not a deposit. Once you place your first trade it is no longer refundable.
- Most people do not pass. Treat the challenge fee as money you are prepared to lose.
- There is no guarantee of profit, of passing, or of any payout.
- No payout has settled yet. The public ledger exists and is empty: Yodoya has no payout track record.
- Every payout address is screened against sanctions lists, whatever the amount. If an address is sanctioned we cannot pay it, and the fee is still not refundable.
- We earn when a challenge is failed and a new one is purchased. Our financial interest is opposite to yours.
- This is not a regulated investment product. It is not authorised or supervised under any investment or securities regime, and statutory investor protections do not apply.
1. Who we are, what Yodoya is
All Yodoya accounts, including "funded" accounts, are simulated at all times. No real capital is deployed on your behalf, and no money of yours is held, invested or traded in any market.
Yodoya is a simulated trading challenge operated by the operator of this website. In these terms "we", "us" and "Yodoya" mean that operator, and "you" means the person using the service.
Yodoya is a skill assessment, not a financial service. You take a simulated trading challenge against live crypto prices. Meet the profit target without breaching a loss rule and the account converts to a simulated "funded" account, on which we may pay you a performance fee measured against the simulated profit you go on to make.
- Every account is simulated at all times, including a funded one. No real capital is deployed on your behalf, no order of yours ever reaches an exchange, and you hold no interest in any trading account, position or asset.
- Nothing you pay us is a deposit. A challenge fee is paid to us and is ours on arrival. Matches are free, so nothing is paid for one (section 9). A payout is paid from our own treasury. There is no client account and we hold no wallet or balance for you: the account wallet described in section 11 is your own, self-custodied, and only you can authorise a payment from it. The dollar figures on a challenge or funded account are the parameters of a simulation, not money.
- Duel credit is the one balance we do keep for you, and it is credit, not money. It is left over from duels we settled on our own books before matches moved on-chain, it no longer grows, and it comes off the price of a challenge. It is not a deposit, it is not held in an account in your name, it earns no interest, and no deposit-guarantee or investor-compensation scheme applies to it. You may ask us to convert it to cash, and section 9 sets out how and when. Until you do, it is a promise from us to you, not money of yours in our keeping.
- This is not a regulated investment product, and it is not authorised or supervised under any investment or securities regime. Statutory investor-protection schemes do not apply to it.
- We are not a broker, a dealer, an exchange or a contract-for-difference provider. We do not hold client money, we do not execute orders at any venue, we give you no market access, and we act as nobody’s counterparty in any trade. There is no contract for difference between us: neither side owes the other anything measured against a price movement. What a funded account earns you is a reward we pay for a result you produced in a simulation, and section 8 says so in terms.
- There is no leverage, margin or borrowing on a challenge, a funded account or a Chart Draft match. A live duel allows leverage of up to 50× on the simulated capital each player is given for that match; it is a rule of the contest, not credit. Nothing is advanced to you and you can never owe us money as a result of a simulated loss.
- Nothing on this site, or in anything we send you, is investment, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation or solicitation to trade or invest. Past simulated performance — yours, another trader’s or the leaderboard’s — is not indicative of future results.
2. Who may use Yodoya
You may use Yodoya only if all of the following are true. You confirm all four when you sign in, and they must stay true for as long as you hold an account. What we independently verify is stated against each one — the rest you are warranting to us, and a false warranty is a breach of these terms under section 13.
- Confirmed at signup: you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter this contract. Opening an account requires you to tick a box confirming it, and we store when you did and the IP address you did it from with your account. An account opened before we asked is asked once, and cannot buy or be paid until it answers. We do not ask for your date of birth and do not independently verify your age; and an account we find belongs to a minor is closed and any payout claimed on it is void.
- Checked at signup, again at purchase, and again at payout: you are not resident
in, and are not accessing Yodoya from, a blocked jurisdiction. We compare the country you declare
against the country your connection resolves to, and record every decision. Those blocked from
Yodoya entirely are currently:
- Iran — comprehensively sanctioned jurisdiction
- North Korea — comprehensively sanctioned jurisdiction
- Syria — comprehensively sanctioned jurisdiction
- Cuba — comprehensively sanctioned jurisdiction
- Russia — EU sanctions (Regulation 833/2014)
- Belarus — EU sanctions (Regulation 765/2006)
If you hold duel credit from duels we previously settled on our own books, it stays yours wherever you are: you can still put it towards a challenge or ask us to convert it to cash.
- You are not a person, and do not act for a person, designated under any sanctions regime. Screened at payout: every payout address is checked against the OFAC SDN and EU consolidated lists before any money moves, on every payout, whatever its size. We do not screen a name at signup or at purchase — the address is what we screen, and there is no address until you ask to be paid.
- You are acting for yourself, as a consumer or sole trader, and not on behalf of anyone else. Not independently verified; you are warranting it.
Declaring a country you do not live in, or using a VPN, proxy or any other means to appear to be somewhere you are not, is a breach of these terms. It does not create a right to trade, and it voids any payout claimed on the account — see section 13.
Your responsibility for local law
The lists in these terms are where we close Yodoya. They are not advice about the law where you live. You may not buy a challenge from anywhere it is illegal gambling, an unlicensed financial service, or otherwise prohibited by law, whether or not that place is listed. Checking is your responsibility. Each time you buy or enter, you represent that you are legally allowed to, that you are not in a closed place, and that you are not using a VPN or any other means to get round these restrictions. You agree to indemnify us against losses, fines and claims arising from your taking part in breach of your local law or these terms, except where the law says a consumer cannot be asked to.
Where Yodoya is available
Challenges and funded accounts are open in most of the world. We close them entirely in comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions, and we may close them anywhere else at any time if the position there changes.
- United Kingdom. Challenges and funded accounts are available. Nothing offered here is a regulated activity under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000: we accept no deposits, safeguard no client money, arrange no deals in investments, and provide no contracts for difference or other specified investments. We are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and are not required to be. The FSCS and the Financial Ombudsman Service do not cover anything you buy here. Matches are free only for now.
- Canada. Challenges and funded accounts are available. We are not registered as a dealer or adviser with any provincial or territorial securities commission, and nothing here is a security, a derivative, or a managed account: no client funds are taken, none are deployed, and every account is a simulation. Matches are free only for now.
- United States. Challenges and funded accounts are available. Matches are free only for now and are available in every state.
Availability is decided by the country you tell us and by where your connection appears to be. If the two disagree, we treat the more restrictive answer as the right one.
3. Your account
You sign in with an email address. There is no password: access is proved by a one-time code sent to that address, so whoever controls the mailbox controls the account. Keeping it secure, and telling us promptly if it is not, is your responsibility.
One person, one Yodoya account. You may hold several trading accounts under it — that is normal, and buying another challenge after a breach is expected. What is not permitted is a second identity: see section 13.
You give us the country you live in at signup. It is a compliance record, not a preference, and it must be true.
4. What the fee buys
A challenge fee is the price of taking one challenge. It is not a deposit, not an investment, and not capital. It is refundable in full until you place a trade on the account it opened, and not after — section 10 sets out exactly how.
The fee pays for a service: access to the simulated trading platform, the live price data and tools it runs on, the evaluation of your trading against the three rules, and, if you pass, eligibility for performance-based payouts under sections 7 and 8. It is not a wager, a bet or a stake. It is not placed on any outcome, and it is not returned or paid out depending on one. Passing changes what you can do next, not what the fee bought.
Buying a challenge entitles you to one simulated evaluation account of the size shown on the pricing page, subject to these terms, for as long as that account stays active. There is no time limit and no minimum number of trading days. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
Your first challenge is priced lower. If you have not bought anything from us before, your first challenge costs $21 instead of $24 (Micro), $39 instead of $44 (Small), $59 instead of $69 (Standard), $99 instead of $109 (Large). The first-time price applies to one purchase only. It is used up by the first purchase that uses it or that costs you anything (in USDC or in credit), and refunding that purchase does not give it back. An account a discount code covered in full does not use it up, so you keep the first-time price for your next challenge. Discount codes, partner codes and the referral discount apply on top of the first-time price (section 12).
You can raise your payout share from 80% to 90% at checkout, for 25% more on the fee you are charged for the tier. The higher share then applies to every payout from that account.
Instant-funding tiers cost $119 (Micro), $219 (Small), $299 (Standard), $549 (Large) and skip the evaluation: you are placed straight onto a funded account and can trade it immediately. Everything in section 7 then applies to you from the first trade.
A breach ends the account and the challenge it paid for. It does not entitle you to a free retry, a discount, or a refund. Another attempt means another challenge, at the price published then.
The free demo tier exists so you can test the platform. It never converts to a funded account and never pays anything.
5. The three rules
Three rules decide every evaluation. All three are measured on equity — your balance plus the profit or loss on any open position, marked at the price that position would close at right now, not at the mid. You will never see equity you could not realise. The rules in plain language, with a worked example →
- Target: +10%. Reaching 10% above your starting balance passes the evaluation.
- Daily loss: −4%. Measured against your own balance at the start of the current UTC day, so the line moves with the account: tighter after a losing day, looser after a winning one.
- Overall floor: −5%. A fixed line below your starting balance. It does not move during an evaluation.
Touching a loss line at any moment, even for a single price tick, ends the account immediately. There is no daily close, no grace period, and no averaging: the rule is a line, not a daily summary.
A breach is always evaluated before the target. If a single price tick would satisfy both — equity crossing the target and a loss line in the same instant — it is a breach, and the account closes. This ordering never reverses, in either direction. It is stated here because it is the term most likely to be disputed.
Both loss rules apply to a funded account exactly as they apply to an evaluation. Only the target disappears once you are funded.
6. How orders are simulated
Prices come from live crypto exchange feeds. Everything else about a fill is our simulation of a real venue, and these are its terms:
- Latency. An order does not fill at the price you saw when you clicked. It fills at the price observed at a random moment between 120 ms and 200 ms later. This exists so nobody on a faster feed than ours can pick off a stale quote.
- Spread. You buy above the mid and sell below it. The spread is per symbol — tighter on deep markets, wider on thin ones, as at a real venue — and the live figure for each of the 20 tradable symbols is shown in the terminal.
- Slippage rejection. If the mid moves more than 0.4% between your request and its fill, the order is rejected rather than filled. A rejected order costs you nothing and reserves nothing.
- One open position per symbol. A second order on the same side nets into the existing position at a quantity-weighted average entry. An order on the opposite side of a symbol you already hold is refused until that position is closed.
- No leverage on a challenge or funded account. Margin always equals notional. We never advance you exposure against your account, and no order may reserve more collateral than the account has free. Total open notional is additionally capped at 10× the starting balance.
- None of this applies to a Chart Draft match. A match is not traded at all: nothing is filled, there is no spread, no latency and no slippage, and the chart it is played on finished before either player moved. A claim is priced at the closing price of the candle it enters and the candle it leaves, exactly. There is no leverage and nothing can be liquidated. Section 9 sets out how a match works.
- Stops and take-profits are ordinary orders. When one triggers, its close is queued through the same latency and spread path your own click would take. A protective order is not a guaranteed price.
- A dead or stale feed freezes everything. While the feed is unhealthy nothing fills and nothing breaches. No account is ever closed on a price observed during an outage.
Every fill and every breach permanently stores the quote snapshot it was computed from — both feeds and both timestamps. That record is yours to ask for in a dispute (section 16).
What we never do to a fill
Spreads, latency, the slippage limit and fill logic are fixed per symbol and per account type, published here and in the terminal, and applied identically to every trader. We never vary them by trader, by account, by account size, by how an account is doing, or by how near it is to a loss line. We never alter, delay or filter the price feed to cause a breach. Every breach and every pass is calculated mechanically from the published rules and the live price, and section 16 lets you check one.
The spread is not neutral. It is the main cost of trading here, it is set with the pass rate in mind, and it is a large part of why most accounts do not pass.
7. Funded accounts
Passing an evaluation converts the account to a funded account. "Funded" is a contractual status, not an allocation of capital: it means the account is eligible for performance-based payouts under section 8. No real capital is allocated to you, held for you, or traded on your behalf, before or after you pass.
- There is no profit target any more. Both loss rules still apply.
- Every payout address is screened against sanctions lists — currently the OFAC SDN and EU consolidated lists — on every payout, whatever its size. This screening is never waived. A match means we cannot pay, and the fee is not refundable.
- We do not ask for documents — not at signup, not at purchase,
and not to be paid. That is a deliberate, risk-based choice, and it rests on the controls that do
apply to every payout instead:
- every payout address is screened against sanctions lists, as below, and a match is final;
- what any one account can be paid is capped, at 8% of account size in any rolling 30 days (section 8);
- payouts are made only in USDC to a self-custodied address;
- larger payouts are looked at by a person before they are sent;
- one person may hold one Yodoya account, and the jurisdiction gate runs at signup, at purchase and at payout (section 2).
- We may still ask who you are. Not asking by default is not a promise never to ask. We may require proof of your age, your country of residence or who you are, and hold a payout until we have it, where the law, a regulator or a court requires it of us; where we reasonably suspect fraud, a second account, an account held by a minor or for someone else, a false declaration of where you live, or an attempt to evade sanctions; or where a payout is unusual in size or pattern. We ask only for what that reason needs, we handle it under our privacy policy, and a payout held for this reason is released as soon as the question is answered. If you do not answer, or the answer confirms a breach of these terms, the payout is not made and section 13 applies.
- The warranties in section 2 carry the weight a document check would. Because we rely on what you confirm at signup rather than on papers, a false statement about your age, where you live or who you are voids every payout claimed on the account, and money already paid on the strength of it is repayable to us.
- Simulated capital scales for free on a clean record: 1.25× once 8%, 1.50× once 16%, 2× once 28% of the account's original size has been withdrawn as gross profit in total, with no breach in between. What counts is the total withdrawn, not the number of payouts it was taken in, so smaller payouts climb the ladder exactly as fast as larger ones. A payout that is rejected does not count.
- If screening returns a sanctions match, no payout can be made from the account, including profit already earned on it. The challenge fee is not refunded in that case — the requirement is published here, on the pricing page, and in the checkout before you pay.
Money laundering and sanctions
You must not use Yodoya to launder money, to evade sanctions, or to move the proceeds of crime. You must not be located in, or act for anyone located in, a comprehensively sanctioned jurisdiction, and you must not be on, or act for anyone on, a sanctions list.
Not asking for ID by default is not a promise never to ask. We may ask for ID, source-of-funds information or other checks at any time, especially before a large payout or one that looks unusual. Payouts that cross internal cumulative thresholds, or that show an unusual pattern, get enhanced review. We don’t publish the thresholds. Review may mean questions or information requests and can delay a payout while it runs. It does not change what you are entitled to under these terms. If you don’t provide what we reasonably ask for, we may suspend the account, and the pending payout is not made, to the extent the law allows.
8. Payouts
A payout is a performance reward, not a share of trading profits. There is no trading profit to share: no position of yours ever existed at a venue. The reward is measured against your simulated result because that is the fairest available measure of the skill you demonstrated.
When the conditions below are met, the payout is owed to you. We do not decide case by case whether to pay. A payout is withheld, reduced or reversed only on the grounds these terms set out: a breach of sections 2, 7 or 13, a sanctions match, an error under section 15, or a hold while a question under section 7 is answered.
You take part as a consumer, as section 2 says — not as our employee, partner, agent or contractor, and not as an investor in anything. A payout is not wages, interest, a dividend or a return on anything you paid.
Where payouts come from
Payouts are paid in USDC from our own revenue, which is challenge fees. They are not a share of any real trading profit (there is none), and they are not interest, a dividend, or a return on anything you paid. Fees pay for the platform, price data, infrastructure, support and payouts. We do not take the other side of your trades, because there are no real trades to take the other side of. We do earn when a challenge is failed and another is bought, so our financial interest runs opposite to yours.
These are the conditions:
- You may request a payout once profit on the account reaches 3% of its starting balance and the amount payable to you is at least $20.
- You receive 80% of that profit; we retain the rest. The account balance falls by the gross amount withdrawn — back to its starting capital when you take the whole profit, and back to starting capital plus whatever the 30-day cap below stopped you taking when it doesn’t.
- A payout does not change the account’s maximum loss line. That line stays fixed at 5% below the account’s starting balance for the life of the account, whether you withdraw or not. It moves only when the account scales onto larger capital.
- At most 8% of account size is paid in any rolling 30-day window. Requested-but-unpaid payouts count against that cap from the moment you request them.
- Money already paid to you is yours. A later breach never claws back a past payout. The only exceptions are a payout made by our error (section 15) and a payout voided because it was obtained in breach of sections 2, 7 or 13; those amounts are repayable to us.
- Payouts are made in USDC to a blockchain address you supply. Every address is screened against the OFAC SDN and EU consolidated sanctions lists as a hard gate before approval — a match rejects the payout and cannot be overridden by anyone here. Larger amounts are additionally reviewed by a person before they are sent.
- The address you give is your responsibility. An on-chain transfer cannot be reversed, and we cannot recover funds sent to an address you mistyped or no longer control. Payouts are sent only as native USDC on Arbitrum One; make sure the wallet or exchange behind your address accepts it on that network. Funds sent to a platform that does not support it may be lost, and we are not liable for them.
- Confirmed payouts are published, with their transaction hashes and without any identifying detail, on the public ledger.
We pay the network fees ourselves. Taxes on anything you receive are yours to declare and pay, and we do not give tax advice. Where the law requires us to report a payment to a tax authority, or to withhold tax from it, we will do so, and section 7 lets us ask you for what that needs.
9. Matches: Chart Draft and live duels
We run two head-to-head games, Chart Draft and live duels. Both are free. There is no entry, no prize and no money involved, and we take no payment for a match. You can play either game against another player or practise it against a bot. Practice against a bot never counts towards a record, a rating or a leaderboard. If we ever offer paid matches, we will update these terms first and say so before any payment is taken.
Chart Draft
Chart Draft is a contest between two people played on a price chart that is already finished before either of them moves. Both players see every one of its 160 candles from the start. They then take turns claiming trades on it — 4 each, long or short, covering between 8 and 40 candles — and a candle can belong to only one trade, so every claim is also one the other player can no longer make. The same chart is then played a second time with the other player claiming first. Each player’s trades are scored against a simulated $10,000 for each leg, and the higher total across the two legs wins. Nothing is traded at a venue here either — section 1 applies to a match exactly as it applies to a challenge.
The result is decided by the two players’ decisions and by nothing else. The chart is fixed and published before play begins, so there is no future price to be right or lucky about. There is no draw, no shuffle, no dice and no hidden information: every claim is made one at a time and is visible to both players, and to anyone watching, the moment it is made. Trades are priced at the closing price of the candle they enter and the candle they leave, so there is no spread, no slippage and no delay. Nothing is ever decided by who clicked first.
Live duels
A live duel is a race between two people on live crypto prices. Each player is given the same simulated $10,000 for that match only, trades it on the same prices for the same fixed clock, and the higher equity when the clock runs out wins. Leverage of up to 50× is allowed. A player whose equity falls to the maintenance margin — 0.5% of the total size of their open positions — is liquidated and loses the match, whatever the other player’s equity. A player may also forfeit at any time, which closes their positions and loses the match whatever the equities are. An exact tie voids it. Orders are simulated as described in section 6, except that a duel trades at the mid with no spread.
A live duel is not decided by the players alone. Each player’s decisions — what to trade, which way, how much and when to close — are what separate them, but both trade prices that move during the match, and those movements are outside either player’s control. A better player can lose to a worse one on a given day. Our position is that the outcome is predominantly determined by the players’ skill, because both face identical prices at identical times, but it is not free of chance, and you play on that understanding.
Where matches are available
Matches are open wherever the rest of Yodoya is.
Match rules
- An exact tie voids the match. Neither side wins.
- Chart Draft: your clock is yours to spend. Each time control gives you a fixed bank plus an increment for every claim you make, and you get 30 seconds to study the chart before the first claim with both clocks stopped. If your clock runs out, your remaining claims for the match are passed, the trades you already claimed still count, and your opponent plays on. A disconnection is treated exactly the same way.
- Chart Draft: there is no leverage and nothing can be liquidated. A claim is scored on the simulated account as it stands, and a fee of 0.060% is charged when a trade is entered and again when it is closed.
How the chart you play is chosen
A Chart Draft match is played on a chart drawn from our approved practice charts. Charts are generated by us in advance and are not real market data.
Fair play
Using software to choose your claims or trade for you, or any other outside assistance, is prohibited in both games. So is arranging a result with your opponent, and playing someone in order to move value to them rather than to compete.
- In Chart Draft matches against another player we measure how closely each player’s claims match what a solver would choose, and how think-time is distributed across them. A match whose pattern we cannot reconcile with honest play is held before its result counts.
- A held match is reviewed by a person, who either releases it, in which case the result stands, or voids it, in which case neither player wins. A hold nobody reviews within 4 hours is voided automatically.
- Confirmed assistance can end your access to matches, under section 13.
Duel credit
Matches are free, so there are no winnings and nothing is paid out for a match.
Some accounts still hold duel credit from duels we settled on our own books before matches moved on-chain. It is credit against our own services, held on our books as a promise from us to you — not a deposit, not an account in your name, and not money of yours that we keep. It earns no interest, and no deposit-guarantee or investor-compensation scheme applies to it. No new credit is created, because matches are free. Credit you already hold stays yours (it is frozen while an account is suspended, under section 17), and you can do two things with it:
- Put it towards a challenge. It comes off the price at checkout automatically. Where you hold both duel credit and referral credit, referral credit is spent first, because only duel credit can be converted to cash.
- Ask us to convert it to cash, once it reaches $25.
A conversion to cash is a payout and is treated as one: it is paid in USDC to an address you supply, every address is screened against the OFAC SDN and EU consolidated sanctions lists as a hard gate, and the address you give is your responsibility because an on-chain transfer cannot be reversed. We never convert your credit for you and never move it anywhere without you asking.
Credit spent on a challenge that is later refunded comes back as credit, on the same terms as this section — a refund never converts credit into money. Credit is not transferable between accounts, and using matches to move value between accounts rather than to compete is a breach of section 13 and forfeits it.
10. Cancellation and refunds
Starting straight away, and your right of withdrawal
A challenge is only worth having if it starts at once. Before you pay, checkout asks you to tick one unticked box, next to a statement that sets out three things in full: that you want your account opened straight away, that you understand that once you place your first trade you lose your right to cancel and the fee is no longer refundable, and that you accept the risk, set out in Read this before you pay, that you may lose the entire fee. Nothing is pre-ticked, and you cannot pay without ticking it. We record each of the three confirmations with the time and the IP address it was given from, and the account is not opened until you have given them. The same applies when you open an account with a giveaway code.
- Before your first trade, a refund is always the whole fee, at any time — see the next heading. If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the United Kingdom, this covers your 14-day right of withdrawal and goes beyond it.
- After your first trade, the fee is not refundable and the contract cannot be cancelled for a refund.
Matches are free, so there is nothing to refund for one.
Refunds you can take without asking us
Any purchase on which you have placed no trade is refundable in full, in one click, with no questions asked — at any time, not only within 14 days. The button is on your account page. Taking it closes the account, and the money goes back to the wallet that paid: automatically for smaller amounts, and by hand for larger ones or where the paying wallet cannot be identified. Manual refunds are processed within 14 days of the request.
Once a trade has been placed, the fee is no longer refundable.
None of this limits a statutory right that cannot be waived, including a remedy where the service was not what we described.
11. Paying in USDC
The only checkout rail is USDC, on the chain named at checkout. Prices are quoted in US dollars and charged as the equivalent USDC amount. We record the EUR value of every completed purchase at the rate in force at that moment, as a tax record.
Every published price includes any VAT or equivalent sales tax that applies to you; it is never added at checkout. Where we owe VAT on a challenge fee, it is set by the country you gave us at signup and shown on your receipt.
- You authorise the exact amount from your own wallet. We never take custody of a wallet, never hold your keys, and never charge you again without a new authorisation.
- Send only the asset, on only the chain, that checkout names. Anything else may be permanently unrecoverable and is not our responsibility.
- A purchase completes when the transfer confirms on-chain. No account is opened before then.
Paying from your account wallet
If you send USDC from an exchange instead of paying from a browser wallet, you send it to your own account wallet: a wallet created for you when you sign in, which only you can authorise payments from. It is not a Yodoya address, and USDC in it is not held by us.
- The price has to arrive in that wallet in full before anything is charged. Exchanges often deduct their own withdrawal fee from the amount you send, so what arrives can be less than what you entered; that fee is set and kept by your exchange, not by us. If less than the price arrives, nothing is charged and checkout tells you how much is still missing.
- We then take exactly the price, never more. Anything above it stays in your account wallet. It goes towards your next payment, or you can send it to any address from your profile ($1 minimum per send), with the network fee paid by us.
- We pay the network fee for the payment itself. You never need to hold ETH or any other gas token.
12. Referrals, partners, credit and discount codes
Your account carries a referral link. Anyone who signs up through it is your referee, and both sides get something — but both are bounded, and these are the bounds.
- Your referee saves 10%. The discount is applied automatically to the first challenge they buy, and to that purchase only. It is not a standing discount on their account.
- You earn 10% back, on their first 3 purchases. Credit is calculated on what your referee actually paid, not on the list price, so a purchase made with a discount or a code earns 10% of the smaller number and a purchase that collected nothing earns nothing. After 3 paid purchases by that same referee, their later purchases earn you no further credit. Other referees are counted separately.
- Credit is store credit, not cash. It is spendable against your own future challenges and is never paid out, transferred, or exchanged for money. Referring someone does not make you our agent, employee or partner.
- You may not refer yourself. Referring your own accounts, or creating accounts to collect credit, is a breach of section 13 and forfeits the credit.
Partner links and codes
Some sites and creators work with us directly as partners. Each has its own code. You can use it in two ways, and both have the same effect:
- sign up through the partner's link, or
- type the partner's code in the code box at checkout, before your first purchase.
Either one gives you a discount on your first challenge, at the rate agreed with that partner. Checkout shows the discount before you pay. It also links your account to that partner, and the partner may be paid a cash commission on your purchases under a separate written agreement with us. That commission costs you nothing and does not change your price. It earns nobody store credit.
An account is linked to one referrer or one partner, never both. Whichever comes first stays: a partner code cannot be used by an account that signed up through a referral link or through another partner, or by an account that has already made a purchase. Partners are bound by their agreement with us, not by the referral rules above, and they cannot use their own code to discount their own purchases.
Discount codes are separate from referrals. A code applies only to the tiers it names, only while it is active, only up to its published number of uses, and once per person. A code replaces the referral discount rather than adding to it — one code per order, and you always pay the better of the two rather than both. Either one applies to the first-time price in section 4 when you have it, not instead of it.
Credit is reserved when you start a checkout, not when it completes, so an abandoned checkout holds your credit briefly before it is returned to your balance automatically. Cancelling a purchase under section 10 returns any credit it spent.
These rates and the 3-purchase limit may change for future purchases, under section 19. Credit already earned is not withdrawn by such a change.
13. Fair use and prohibited conduct
The evaluation is a test of trading skill against fixed, published rules. These are the things that defeat that test rather than pass it, and all of them are prohibited:
- Holding more than one Yodoya identity, or trading an account opened in someone else’s name.
- Coordinating positions across accounts — yours or other people’s — so that a losing side breaches while a winning side is paid. This includes group or copy-trading arrangements with the same effect.
- Exploiting a pricing, feed, latency or software error instead of reporting it. A profit made that way is not a trading result, and we will reverse it.
- Automated abuse: scraping, load generation, or driving the API beyond ordinary use of the terminal.
- Misrepresenting your identity, residence or documents, including by VPN or proxy, or using Yodoya on behalf of a sanctioned person.
- Reversing or disputing a payment you did in fact authorise.
- Arranging a result with your opponent in a match, or playing to move value rather than to compete (section 9).
- Using Yodoya for money laundering, sanctions evasion or any other illicit purpose (section 7).
- Choosing a username that is offensive, hateful, sexual or threatening, that impersonates Yodoya, its staff or another person, or that contains a link, an advert, a contact handle or spam. Your username is shown to other players, so we may remove one that breaks this rule at any time.
- Cheating in, abusing or disrupting a match, paid or free: stalling or abandoning matches to deny opponents a result, deliberately exploiting a bug in a game, or harassing other players.
Where we conclude on the evidence that one of these has happened, we may close the accounts involved, void or withhold payouts claimed on them, and refuse further business, to the extent the law allows. We will tell you which rule we relied on and show you the evidence. Fees on accounts closed this way are not refunded.
14. Changes to the trading rules
We never change the rules on an active account. The target, the loss lines, the split and the payout terms that applied when your account opened are the ones it lives and dies by, whatever we publish afterwards.
New rules apply to accounts opened after they take effect, and every change is published with its date in the rule changelog below.
15. Availability, outages and errors
We do not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, an exchange feed failure, or an infrastructure outage can all stop trading, and we may suspend the platform where continuing would be unfair or unsafe.
While the price feed is stale or dead the engine freezes: no fill, no breach, no pass. That protects you, and it is why an outage does not turn into a wave of unfair closures.
Open positions stay open through an outage, and you carry the risk of what the market does meanwhile. While the engine is frozen you cannot open, close or change a position, and stops and take-profits cannot trigger. When the feed is healthy again every account is evaluated at the first healthy price, and if the market has moved past a loss line in the meantime, the account breaches on that price — a real price observed after the outage, not one observed during it. We do not reopen, restore or compensate an account for a move that happened while trading was frozen, and an outage does not extend or pause anything.
A live duel’s clock keeps running through an outage. Neither player can trade while it lasts, and nobody is liquidated on an outage price. If the clock runs out during the outage, the match is settled at the first healthy price after it, exactly as if the buzzer had landed then.
Things outside our control
Yodoya depends on services we do not run: crypto exchanges and their price feeds, the blockchain networks payments and matches settle on, the USDC stablecoin and its issuer, your wallet software, and our hosting, network and security providers. We are not liable for loss caused by their failure, delay, congestion, fork, rule change or shutdown, by a USDC loss of peg or freeze, by a change in law or a regulator’s instruction, or by any other event beyond our reasonable control. Where such an event stops us performing, our obligations are suspended for as long as it lasts, and nothing already owed to you is cancelled by it.
Blockchain transactions carry their own risk. An on-chain transfer is final once confirmed, network fees and confirmation times vary, and a smart contract can contain defects despite testing. You are responsible for the security of your own wallet and keys; we cannot reverse a transaction signed from it, by you or by anyone who has them.
If a fill, a breach or a payout figure is produced by an error on our side — bad data, a defect, a mispriced symbol — we will correct it in whichever direction the evidence points, and tell you what we changed and why. We reserve the right to reverse a result obtained through such an error. We do not reverse a result you simply dislike.
16. Disputes and evidence
Ask us first. Every fill is stored with the quote snapshot it was computed from, every breach with the exact tick that caused it, and every account with its equity curve at one-second resolution. That is enough to settle almost any dispute conclusively, and we will show it to you.
Write to legal@yodoya.xyz with your account and roughly when it happened. If we cannot resolve it between us, nothing here stops you taking the matter further — see section 20.
17. Suspension and closure
You can stop using Yodoya at any time, and ask us to close your account and delete what we are not required to keep — see the privacy policy. Closing an account with an active challenge forfeits that challenge; a zero-trade purchase can be refunded first, under section 10.
We may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe section 2 or section 13 has been breached, where sanctions screening cannot be completed, or where we are legally required to. Where the law allows it, we will tell you why.
We may suspend an account at any time, with immediate effect, if it breaks the rules of a game or the username rules in section 13, including while we look into a report. A suspended account cannot sign in or play, is removed from leaderboards and public profiles, and its duel credit, referral credit and payouts are frozen: credit stays on record but cannot be spent or converted, and a payout already requested is held, not sent. A match already under way still settles. If the breach is confirmed, section 13 applies to what was frozen; if it is not, we lift the suspension and everything resumes where it stopped.
We may also discontinue the service. If we do, active accounts are honoured as far as the law and our remaining obligations allow, and fees on untraded purchases are returned.
18. Liability
Yodoya is provided as it is. We do not promise that using it will make you money, that you will pass, or that any particular result is achievable. Most people do not pass, and there is no guarantee of profit or of any payout.
To the extent the law permits, our total liability to you for anything arising out of these terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost opportunity, or the value of a simulated result you did not receive.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — including your mandatory rights as a consumer.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here, with the date it was last updated at the top. Material changes are announced by email to registered users before they take effect. Continuing to use Yodoya after that is acceptance; if you do not accept, stop using it and take any refund you are entitled to under section 10.
A change to these terms never changes the trading rules on an account that is already open — see section 14.
20. Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by the law of Sweden, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of your own country of residence, and you may bring proceedings there.
Consumers in the EU may also take a complaint to an alternative dispute resolution body or consumer authority in their own country; the European Consumer Centre in your country of residence will point you to the right one. (The European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025 and is no longer a route.) We would rather you wrote to us first — see section 16.
If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stands.
These terms, with the pages they link to, are the whole agreement between us. Where marketing copy, a help page, an email or anything said in support differs from them, these terms apply. Not enforcing a term straight away does not waive it. We may transfer this agreement to a business that takes over Yodoya, and your rights under it go with it; you may not transfer yours. These terms are written in English, and the English version applies if a translation differs.
